At Approved Autos, our team of experts will treat your car with the same care they would treat their own
and provide you with a wide range of tyre services at fantastic prices.
When most drivers think of tyres, their first thought is probably the dreaded puncture. If you’ve driven for
long enough, chances are you’ve had a puncture at some point, and if not, then you’re so lucky we’d love
to hear what numbers you’d pick for the lottery!
The majority of punctures will, unfortunately, require a whole new tyre. However, if it is possible to repair
your tyre and ensure it is 100% road safe, then that’s exactly what we will do! The British Standard
requires no more than 6mm of damage within the central ¾ of the tyre, so within this range, we are happyto repair a tyre.
Damage outside of this central region or more extensive punctures is simply too dangerous to repair, as
your tyre could burst! Don’t take a risk with your safety by having a mechanic persuade you that a cheap
fix is a good solution, if it’s safe to fix a puncture, we will do it, but your safety is our priority and if you
need a new tyre then you can be assured that our prices are the best around.
If you have Runflat tyres, these will allow you to drive a short distance safely on a puncture, but they will
always need replacing and Approved Autos will always stock a supply of Runflats for quick, efficient
replacements.
Many drivers don’t think much about their tyres unless they get a puncture or an MOT finds an issue.
However, we provide several services that can extend the life of your tyres and help maintain optimum
handling.
Tyre rotation is commonly overlooked by most drivers, however, this can help ensure consistent handling
and reduce the risk of a puncture. Our team will carefully analyse your tyres for wear and tear and swap
their positions if there is evidence of uneven wear.
Another aspect of tyres that is worth attention is air pressure. Optimal air pressure will not only reduce
tread-wearing on your tyres, it will improve handling, and give your car greater fuel economy.
Many modern cars will now alert you if tyre pressure is too low, so if you see this warning sign, don’t
hesitate to have the problem dealt with quickly.
The team at Approved Autos can quickly check your pressure if you’re unsure, and adjusting the pressure
is a quick, simple job for our team that can save you money on petrol, reduce puncture risk, and have
your car driving like new!
With all this talk of punctures and air pressure in tyres, we did think of making a pun about how we won’t
“let you down”, but sensible as ever, we decided against it!
